ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I shot this sun-lit Little Egret in front of a shadowy background from a hide in the Le Teich Nature Reserve in France. Spot exposure metering on the bright plumage was key to the beauty of this shot. Some post-adjustment of the whites and blacks, et voilà!

AUTHOR
I am a retired university professor (atomic physics, quantum optics) with a passion for light, color, and the living world in all its variations. Photographing for more than 60 years, I currently focus on bird photography, mainly in Switzerland, and in not too far away European countries. I have discovered in recent years that participating in photo contests and/or salons is a challenging (and sometimes rewarding ) full-time pastime.
