ENTRY DESCRIPTION
During a violent demonstration in January 2023 against France’s pension reform bill, protesters set alight a pile of trash and battery-powered bicycles at Place de la Nation in Paris. When firefighters arrived to put out the blaze, these two police officers stood guard to stop protesters from interfering, silhouetting themselves against the smoke.
