ENTRY DESCRIPTION
An exceptional sighting of 23 lions feasting on a giraffe, in the fall of 2022 at Mala Mala. The interactions between pride members ran the gamut from tolerant, to explosions of possessiveness and physical aggression. All ages of the lions engorged themselves, with the cubs passed out amidst the carcass. A return the next morning found the site abandoned, leaving only stains in the ground, and the tail of the giraffe. With footprints as evidence, the hyenas had made short work of what the lions had left behind.
