Fine Art: Honorable Mention 2023 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photograph was taken in the Botanic Garden, Adelaide. It is a metaphor for everyday struggle, sorrow and agony of human being. It closely relates to the Biblical garden of Gethsemane where Jesus experienced great anguish and prayed to be delivered from his impending suffering. This is one of my works from the Sacred Garden series.
AUTHOR
I was born in Krosno, Poland. My photographic work extends over 40 years, beginning with my studies in Kraków, where I explored the beauty of black and white photography and conducted experimental art works together with my latest brother Zbigniew with whom I formed the Micro-Macro art group exploring connections between art and science. Since settling in Australia in 1992, I have exhibited my works in Melbourne where I lived until 2002, and in Adelaide where I reside currently.
My recent works are reflection on our human fate, meaning of our life and are deeply rooted in our Western symbology. This what I call the Art of Values.
I'm the member of the Royal South Australian Society of Art (RSASA) regularly participating in the RSASA members exhibitions.
