ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A social commentary on homelessness in Cape Town, a community of street people the vibrant Cape Town suburb, Observatory. My focus was on each persons’s intrinsic character, aside from their story. Taking a close look into their eyes, is a reminder of our similarities, not our differences.

AUTHOR
Dimi Otis is a South African art and commercial photographer with focus on people, specifically their innate characters, devoid of social standing. A new born human is a blank genetic canvas onto which experience is painted, and perceived as the person we witness. Dimi seeks to illuminate the pre-conditioned character of his subjects, challenging us to experience “what if” moments that break down societal divides. Who would we be if we separated ourselves from our stories?
