ENTRY DESCRIPTION
'The Shadow Tree' is a photograph created by many transformations. It documents a tree in a flooded field. The image is transposed from normal colours and intensities into abstractions of black and white, with new intensities shifted dramatically away from the usual perceptual responses of human eyes. The image of the tree is transposed in space through geometrical inversions and the distortions of a reflective water surface. The result is a vision of a mercurial landscape that would otherwise remain unseen.
