ENTRY DESCRIPTION
It deals with our perception of the photos, which is limited only as far as we see from spaces, and how this perception is completed by our imagination. While imagining the spaces hidden behind what we see, we fill in these gaps with our own life experiences and perspective.
These spaces which define the limits of our observations, symbolize the opportunities and obstacles we face at various moments of our lives. Each space presents us with a choice that requires courage and determination. To enter these spaces is mostly an outcome of our conscious choices, but some spaces may remain closed to us. In this case, the decisions we make about which space we want to be included in are a reflection of our personal experiences and outlook on life.
The limited space we see in the photograph is a symbol of the places we have left behind or have never been able to enter. This photograph invites us to think about the spaces in our lives and to question from which perspective we look at these intervals. This intellectual journey presented by the photograph encourages the viewer to explore the space in his own life and to understand how these discoveries shape his/her life. 2023 / Istanbul, Turkey
