ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is looking up in the stairwell of the Museum of Modern Art in Collioure, South of France. Collioure is a small fishing town made famous by the impressionist artists known as the fauves (in French) or wild beasts, for their tendency to overthrow artistic convention. Henri Matisse was one of them and lived in Collioure. This is an image that does not, of course, have any of the intense colour of a fauvist painting but I love the abstraction and the shades of grey. Photo taken in March 2024.
AUTHOR
I'm a keen amateur photographer with a passion for minimalist, abstract and otherworldly images. This kind of photography allows me to create and quite frankly escape a little bit from 'reality.' I live in rural North Wiltshire in the UK but through my job I have had the opportunity to travel far and wide. I particularly like seascapes but dabble in all kinds of landscape. Currently use Fuji GFX kit.
