ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Images change retrospectively when they are in the darkroom, sometimes long after they have been recorded on film, also deformed by their stay in the camera. Negatives thus become the place of reminiscences/remembrances and amnesia. Giving them substance, with developing and printing, we are led by the atmosphere, or emotion that gave rise to the footage. They are extracted from the past as a newfound unseen present. With the use of old analog devices I am seeking a hallucinatory vision that animates the inert and goes beyond the perceived.
In this photograph, the contrast between the volatile and futuristic luminescences, hiding some presences, and the solid petrified reliefs, the rocks like columns in their distant fossilized beauty, appear as fragile monuments of a distant time, is striking. Faced with the strangeness of the sea gate of the two rocks, contemporaneity is erased to give place to possible anachronisms.
