ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is a sacred location near a Shinto shrine on the coast of Japan. It is called Meoto Iwa or The Wedded Rocks. The bigger rock with the Torii on top represents heaven and the smaller rock connected by the thick rope is the earthly realm. The rope is the connection and has to be replaced three times a year owing to the action of the sea. Such wonderful symbolism. Photo taken in March 2024.
AUTHOR
I'm a keen amateur photographer with a passion for minimalist, abstract and otherworldly images. This kind of photography allows me to create and quite frankly escape a little bit from 'reality.' I live in rural North Wiltshire in the UK but through my job I have had the opportunity to travel far and wide. I particularly like seascapes but dabble in all kinds of landscape. Currently use Fuji GFX kit.
