Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2024 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photograph was more than just a depiction of landscape. It captured the essence of the stark contrasts I felt up in the Arctic circle; fragility and resilience of life, life and solitude, movement and stillness.
A lone iceberg floats in the middle of the sea, glistening in the light, carved by time, weather and patience. Above, the sky is alive with clouds swirling like brushstrokes; a flock of King Eiders flying with a sense of purpose, all contrasting the stillness below.
I hoped for the 'perfect' iceberg... and was treated with a lot more. Converting it to monochrome accentuated the contrasts even better.
