Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2024 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A few days on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides resulted in this shot. I just had to admire the light playing on these lenticular clouds drifting low across the vista in front of me. I shot this in Black and White as it was an unusually sunny day and I felt it complemented the gorgeous shapes of these clouds. The light on this island never fails to provide stunning moody images unlike anywhere else on the British Isles. I have stood here on previous afternoon and each time the light playing on the mountains has produced a vast array of compositions to photograph with various focal lengths. This is one of the remotest parts of the UK and the plan next time I visit will be to hike from left to right across the mountains. I am sure the adventure will produce images just as remarkable as this one.
