Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2024 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken on a rare early morning when a blanket of low-lying mist covered the area between my location and the skyline of New York City. It was the first and only time I have ever witnessed such a scene where levels of mist straddled the landscape on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. I captured it from the first mountains in New Jersey, about thirty-five miles west of New York City, in a town called Verona. I had to set up and take the photo quickly, knowing that the mist would dissipate as the sun grew stronger.
