ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken in Haifa, at dawn, on the seashore on the eve of Beltane. There is a belief that on the night before Beltane, witches gather on a bald mountain to dance naked. I wanted to convey the connection between girls and nature - the sea, the wind, the hills blooming in spring and the beauty of a woman who is also part of nature.

My name is Vera Shvartsburg, I am 36 years old, 10 of which I have been doing photography. I live in Haifa in northern Israel and I do fairy tale photography. I love mythology of different countries, especially Slavic, and I try to bring my knowledge of mythology and fairy tales into my work. I love photographing women and I try to convey their inner strength, beauty and character in my work.
