ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This work showcases the Matriarch of my family, Janet "Meme" Conley.
She is a loving, kind, and compassionate woman who jump started women's rights in the field of photography, becoming an executive at Polaroid in a time where she couldn't have her first name included on documents, lest she is found to be female.
Her fight against dementia has left her unable to recall my face. But she maintains the smile which raised me. Forever love for my grandmother, who got her name "Meme" when my 2-year old self named her after the moon.
This art showcases the grim passage of time, as the torch of caregiver is passed down. She may finally have her rest. I will take care of you. My Meme.
