Strength and Survival: Two Deer in the Wild by Balaji Loganathan (India)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Title: Strength and Survival: Two Deer in the Wild
Location: Samburu, Kenya
Year: 2024
In the warm glow of dusk, two deer stand side by side in Samburu’s rugged landscape. One carries a proud set of antlers, while the other bears a broken horn—a subtle testament to the challenges faced in the wild. The contrast between them tells a story of resilience, with each scar and imperfection marking a survival journey in a world where strength and adaptability are key.
This image captures the quiet dignity and strength of these deer, symbolizing the endurance of wildlife. Through this photograph, I hope to evoke appreciation for the beauty found in imperfection and inspire efforts to protect these creatures and the habitats that sustain them.
