Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) by Shane Keena (United States)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
To this day this is still one of my favorite whale swims with this very curious and energetic Humpback whale calf (Megaptera novaeangilae) twirling at the surface.
This playful leviathan was frolicking around at the surface before diving back down to mom resting below.
After years of photographing Humpback whales topside all over the world, nothing compares to sharing the waters with them and is moment remains one of the most moving and life changing experiences I've had in water with any cetacean.
