ENTRY DESCRIPTION
We found this Sperm Whale calf in December 2022 in the open Indian Ocean, left alone at the surface by her giant squid hunting mother. Every now and then she came looking after her little one, which was just playing around, diving in loops and investigating us from nose to toe. After almost an hour, she turned her back and dove after her mother into the depth, what is captured in this image.
