Fine Art: Honorable Mention 2024 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Portrait of an elderly resident of the favela "Cantagalo" located in Rio de Janeiro. She arrived in the 1940s, at a time when there was not yet running water, when the streets were not yet concreted, and when there was not yet an elevator either. Her osteoarthritis in her hip prevents her from leaving the favela.
