AUTHOR
Zé Paiva switched engineering to photography after a long trip through Europe and North Africa in 1983. In 1993 he studied at the International Center of Photography in New York. He completed his Post Graduation in Photography by UNIVALI in 2012. Taught photography at Santa Catarina State University and ESPM - Marketing and Propaganda Superior School. In 2004, he published the book Santa Catarina - Cores e Sentimentos, by Editora Escrituras. Conceived the Expedição Natureza Santa Catarina project, which resulted in the book launched in 2005 by Letras Contemporâneas Editions. In 2008 he released the second book of the series, Expedição Natureza Gaúcha, in partnership with Metalivros Editions. In 2012 launched the third book of the Expedition series: The Nature of Tocantins. In 2024 he released the fourth book of the series: Expedição Natureza da Ilha. Since 2016 he lives in the Buddhist village Mendjila in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
