ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Portrait of a teenager working in the automotive sector in Kolkata, Northeast India. This photo is from a series made at Mullick Bazar in Calcutta, a used market for auto and motorcycle parts located in the heart of India’s third largest city. The young man is here at the back of the alley where the customers circulate, the room behind him is a room that serves as storage space for his boss. He deserts school.

Christophe Moëc is a French photographer specializing in realistic, documentary and social photography. He particularly likes the candid portrait, capture the face in its natural environment as spontaneously as possible. Analog film photographer, he practices “old school” photography with mechanical cameras and fixed focal lengths, in black and white, color, format 135 and medium format 120.
