Henna Mill by Ulrich Wolf (Germany)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
On a trip through Iran, I visited a henna mill in Yazd. Henna was grounded there with a gigantic millstone, as it had been for a hundreds of years. The only difference was the drive of the millstone. It was powered by an electric motor and a car tire. The air was thick with henna dust that had embedded itself deep into the workers' skin. It was almost impossible to breeze normally. It was quite dark and just the light wich was shining through a window up high, illuminate the workspace a little bit.
