Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2025 (amateur)
North Sea pileheads and cormorants, Zoutelande, Netherlands, October 2024 by Theo A. Kamphuis (Netherlands)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
These pile heads are a familiar sight on the North Sea coast of the Netherlands. I took this photo from a series with an analog camera during a walk along the North Sea coastal path on the Walcheren peninsula in the west of the Dutch province of Zeeland.
AUTHOR
Photography is what I love: past, present and future in one medium! Through photographs I reflect on the past, photographing I like to do myself, now and for later.
Photography has long been a mania for me, as a photographer I am self-taught. Professionally, I also worked for a long time in a historical archive as a photo conservator: preservation, management and use of audiovisual material in historical collections. Fits well with my personal interest in photography, as a medium and historical artifact.
Starting April 2022, I walk in stages along the North Sea coast of the Netherlands. Always in the company of one or more, preferably analogue cameras. On the Internet I report with photos of the stages I walked.
