ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A group of giraffes came to the watering hole to drink. When one of the giraffes lifted its head from the water, it splashed water droplets around while the others were still drinking or just standing in the background. This was a magical night in a photographic hide in the Shompole Wilderness in Kenya.
They were very shy and we minimized the lights on them by turning on the backlighting only.
I spent 16 hours in a photography hide for three nights each in the Shompole Wilderness, Kenya in September 2024. Our group went into the hide before 5 pm and we stayed there until 9 am the next day. I was watching various plains game show up and have a drink at the watering hole all night!

I am a financial software consultant and my passion is wildlife and nature photography. My main subjects are wild cats. I would like to focus on raising awareness with my photography and support various conservation efforts to protect wild cats. Many cat species are on the endangered species list and need our attention before it's too late.
