ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The sun had already set when this female caracal emerged from a bush clutching a mouse she had just caught. She quickly disappeared into another bush to enjoy her meal. Caracals are notoriously elusive and not often seen during the day; to photograph them one must be prepared to shoot in extremely low light, which means using a slower shutter speed and a high ISO.
