ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I was at Nagano, Japan. There was a small group of the Japanese macaques that were foraging in the snow. Just then a large male appeared and the smaller animals seemed to be keeping a wary eye on him. I took this image of one of the macaques using the snow in front of me as the foreground to get only part of his face in complete sharpness. The snow on his head and one of its eyes, the look of alertness on its face and the overall space in the frame conveys, to me, a sense of smallness and hence an extreme caution and wariness in the subject.
AUTHOR
I have left the corporate world after more than thirty years to focus on my passion of wildlife photography. I am an ICF certified executive coach, a trained personality assessment coach and a mentor for leaders and start ups.
I am a late entrant to photography, and here, I like to capture fascinating aspects of animal behaviour and the environment they live in. In my images, I like to explore creative aspects involving light, shadow and motion. Through my writing and my talks, I try to bring the attention of my audience to lesser known aspects of their behaviour, the challenges they face and also the life lessons I have learnt from wildlife photography. I am in the process of finishing my first coffee table book, Whispers from the Wild.
My desire is to continue to travel to lesser visited places and bring back stories that help build a stronger connection with nature, with the wild for my audience.
