ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This picture was taken in the marshlands on the banks of the Baltic Sea in East Germany. A big flock of Starlings was flying back and forth forming wonderful murmurations. They landed on the surrounding fields just to start off again a few seconds later. This picture shows one of these take-offs and demonstrates how well organized such a troop of Starlings acts. I used a longer exposure time to highlight the dynamics of this impressive group behavior.
