Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2025 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
There are places you've never been before, but suddenly, after just a couple of days, you feel at home—as if you've found your comfort zone. Driven by passion for this new landscape, you begin to explore as much as possible, eager to discover more and more.
That’s exactly what happened during my trips to Norway, where I felt deeply connected to the landscape and surroundings—as if I belonged there.
This particular photograph was taken in the Arctic region of Norway, where majestic mountain peaks rise from the fjords, revealing their magnificent beauty. I captured this image (single shoot) with a telephoto lens about an hour before sunset.

AUTHOR
Andrea Sanchini is a fine art landscape photographer whose work captures the
raw beauty and emotional depth of the Alps with painterly elegance. Originally
from Italy, he lived across several countries before settling in Switzerland, where he
earned a PhD in Chemistry. Influenced by Romanticism, classical painting, and a
deep love for nature, Andrea is drawn to alpine lakes, glaciers, waterfalls, and
remote mountain valleys. Now based in Bern near the Bernese Oberland, he
ventures into the mountains whenever light and weather align. Over the past eight
years, he has evolved from passionate explorer to exhibiting artist and fine art
printmaker.
