ENTRY DESCRIPTION
In the Fanal region, one of the last remnants of Madeira’s ancient laurel forest, you encounter a landscape that seems to hover between dream and reality. Mist, wind, and time have shaped the gnarled laurel trees into living sculptures – each form unique, each movement frozen in a single moment.

AUTHOR
Driven by her fascination with photography and design, Munich-based Franco-German photographer Sonia Aumiller graduated from applied Art school in Paris as a fashion designer. After learning to develop analogue films and honing her sense of composition and colour, she eventually chose to specialise in design and embarked on a career in fashion that spanned twenty years. She retired from the world of fashion to devote herself entirely to her artistic passion, photography.
