ENTRY DESCRIPTION
My photograph, titled Chemin Mystérieux (Mysterious Path), captures a suspended moment where nature seems to speak — silently, yet with intensity.

Taken in the heart of winter, the image reveals a deserted path shrouded in mist, where bare, twisted trees appear to come alive. Their branches, like dark arms, seem to close in on the way forward, as if to guard a secret or challenge those who dare to enter. There is a tension here, an almost supernatural presence that evokes both ancient fears and a deep fascination with the unknown.

Black and white was an obvious choice. It strips the scene of distraction and preserves only what truly matters — form, contrast, emotion. It heightens the eerie atmosphere and draws the viewer into this foggy tunnel, where every step becomes a metaphor for moving forward in uncertainty.

Chemin Mystérieux is both an invitation to contemplation and to introspection. The path may represent our doubts, transitions, or personal rebirths. Even if its end disappears into the blur, it reminds us that every journey — even the darkest — holds the promise of something beyond.

AUTHOR
Born in 1980 in Dordogne, Ambre Guinard grew up in a family of artists.
Studying art in high school, she had the opportunity to experiment with shooting techniques and analog photography development, complemented by access to her father’s photo lab.
This environment became the fertile ground for a constant inner exploration in which she cultivates both a rigorous and intuitive approach to art.
In 2009, while working in communications in Paris, photography became her primary means of personal exploration and expression.
Her work arises from the meeting between an open inner state and the subjects that spark her curiosity, or from reflections on contemporary society.
