Under the quiet veil of an African night, a Cape buffalo pauses to drink — a fleeting moment of calm in a landscape defined by survival. The air is heavy with silence, broken only by the soft ripple of water. Reflected beneath him, the vastness of the sky and the weight of his own presence merge into a single vision: strength mirrored by serenity.

Photographed in October 2025, South Africa, this image captures more than an animal at a watering hole; it speaks of balance — between power and peace, life and reflection, darkness and light. The buffalo, ancient and enduring, stands as a guardian of the savanna, a reminder of nature’s rhythm and resilience.

In the hush of twilight, time seems to slow. For an instant, the boundary between the wild and the infinite blurs — and we are left to witness the quiet dignity of existence itself.

AUTHOR
As a Dutch photographer with a deep love for wildlife, nature and landscape photography, I would like to take you on a visual journey through breathtaking images. My name is Robin Scholte, and I am dedicated to capturing the beauty, power and expression of the natural world around us.

With my experience as a business leader and my adventurous spirit, I decided to follow my heart and fully dedicate myself to my old hobby – photography as an art form. It was a leap into the unknown, a new challenge that I fully embraced.

Wildlife photographer
In my work I capture the beauty of nature, the emotion of animals and the vibrant colours that we experience every day. My photography is a tribute to the world around us, and I live by the motto “You can only waste time when you forget to enjoy”. For me it is all about enjoying every moment, from the preparation to the creative processes and the final execution of my vision of our beautiful nature. And all this with deep respect for nature and wildlife.

Since 2021, I have also been working as a guide for Wildpix Travel, where I can share my passion for photography with like-minded adventurers. Together we explore the most inspiring destinations, from enchanting Poland in both summer and winter, to colorful Spain, exotic Guatemala and breathtaking South Africa. It is an incredible opportunity to share my knowledge and love for photography while discovering the world.
